Startup pitch decks on Reveal.js (AI optional)
Build the investor or product deck, then keep it as a file: Reveal.js HTML for the company repo, PDF and PPTX for the people who ask for an attachment. Free is unlimited manual decks with no credit card and no AI; AI drafting is optional and lives on Pro and Unlimited. No accelerator logos on this page, no YC affiliation, no funded-founder counts, and no viewer analytics product — we sell the file, not an audience report.
The job: a fast draft you still own next quarter
A seed deck is rewritten more often than almost anything else a founding team makes — the narrative moves every time you talk to someone, and the constraints are unromantic:
- The first draft should be cheap. Ugly, fast, thrown away by Thursday. That is what a free manual editor — or an optional AI outline on a paid plan — is actually for.
- Some investors want a PPTX. Not a link. A file in the mail thread, opened on a laptop on a train, forwarded to a partner who was not on the call. That is a format requirement, not a preference you can argue with.
- The deck belongs near the product. An HTML bundle committed next to the repo is versioned with the story it tells, diffable when the positioning changes, and still openable when someone asks in two years what you actually promised at seed.
- A cloud-only share link is a dependency. It works while somebody keeps paying and the vendor keeps existing, and neither is your decision — see what happened to Tome. For a document you may need at diligence, that is a strange risk to take for free.
How it works here
AI Slide Generator is a presentation builder on Reveal.js. We did not invent Reveal.js — it is an independent open-source project, and we are an editor and exporter on top of it.
- Free ($0): unlimited manual decks and slides, all templates, export HTML, PDF, and PPTX. No AI. No credit card.
- The HTML is yours to host. The export is a self-contained Reveal.js bundle: commit it to the company repo, publish it from CI or any static host, or present it from a laptop with no network. It does not call back to us to render, and it does not stop working if you close your account.
- PDF and PPTX for the investor thread. Same deck, three artifacts. The PPTX is an export for someone else to open, not a live-editable master — web-only effects do not survive the conversion.
- AI on paid only: the Alie assistant, AI images, and prompt-to-deck are Pro and Unlimited features. Useful for a first structure you are going to rewrite after the next investor call; not required to use the product.
- API access on Unlimited: a server-side API for generating decks programmatically — an investor update built from your own metrics, for instance. It runs through our service; it is not a CLI, an npm package, or a self-hosted renderer.
- Authoring is a web editor. You write slides in the browser and export the result. There is no Markdown importer and no local build step. The output is a file you own; the input is not a directory of source you keep.
Who this is not for
- You want a free AI pitch factory — type the company name, get a funded-looking deck, pay nothing. Free has no AI here, and the tools that do give away generations meter them somewhere you will find later.
- You want a team rehearsal room — live co-editing, in-deck comments, a shared workspace for the founding team to rehearse in. We have none of that; that is Pitch territory.
- You are shopping for accelerator proof — YC or batch logos, a list of funded users, testimonials from founders who raised. We have no accelerator affiliation and will not print logos to imply one.
- You want investor or viewer analytics as the product — a dashboard of who opened the deck and where they stopped. We do not sell it.
- You want Team seats, SSO, or a founder discount from us. We do not sell Team, Enterprise, or SSO, and we publish no startup or education discount.
- Your deck is really a link you send people to scroll rather than a thing you present — a hosted, card-based web deck is the better shape, see Gamma.
- You want automatic on-brand layout to do the design thinking for you before a partner meeting — closer to Beautiful.ai.
Compared with hosted pitch-deck SaaS
The honest split: they sell a hosted deck and the audience experience around it — including the analytics a fundraising founder often wants — and we sell files you own. We do not sell viewer or investor analytics, and we are not going to dress that up as a gap in their offering rather than a different product.
| Founder need | Typical hosted pitch SaaS | AI Slide Generator |
|---|---|---|
| A deck file you keep if you stop paying | Generally no. The deck lives in their player. | Reveal.js HTML bundle. Export on Free. |
| PPTX for the investor who asks by email | Often paid-tier or lossy — check the vendor’s own page. | PPTX and PDF on Free. Export, not a live master. |
| Deck committed next to the company repo | Usually their domain, their player. | Yes. The export is a static bundle. |
| Unlimited manual drafts at $0 | Rare. Free tiers usually meter AI credits instead. | Yes. Free has no AI, and no cap on manual work. |
| AI first draft | Usually the headline feature, credit-metered. | Optional, on Pro and Unlimited. Never on Free. |
| Investor / viewer analytics | Often a headline fundraising feature. | We do not sell it. A file you host cannot report back to us. |
| Live co-editing, Team seats, SSO | Yes, on team plans. | No. Individual plans only. |
| Accelerator or funded-founder proof | Varies — judge the logos on whether the vendor names the relationship. | None claimed. No YC or accelerator affiliation. |

FAQ
Does the Free plan include AI?
No. Free is unlimited manual decks, every template, and HTML, PDF, and PPTX export, with no credit card. AI generation — the Alie assistant, AI images, prompt-to-deck — is on Pro and Unlimited only. Free has no AI. A fundraising page is exactly where a vendor is tempted to blur that line into "free AI pitch deck", and we are not going to.
Do you have YC or accelerator logos, or founders who raised with this?
No, and there are none on this page. We do not have a YC affiliation, an accelerator partnership, or a batch list, and we are not going to print a wall of startup logos we have no relationship with. We also do not publish how many decks here got funded, because we do not know and neither does any vendor that claims it. If proof of other people's rounds is what decides this for you, no honest answer from us will help.
Do you sell investor or viewer analytics — who opened the deck, and for how long?
No. We export files you own and host; we do not sell viewer analytics as a product. A deck sitting in your repo, on your static host, or attached to an email cannot report back to us by design, and we would have to take the file away from you to change that. Several hosted deck tools do sell exactly this and sell it well — if knowing that a partner reached slide nine matters more than owning the artifact, buy it from them, not from us.
Can I keep the HTML in the company repo and still send a PPTX?
Yes, both. The Reveal.js export is a self-contained HTML bundle: commit it next to the product it pitches, publish it from CI or any static host, or open it off a laptop with no network in a room with bad wifi. The same deck also exports to PDF and PPTX, which is what you send when an investor asks for "the deck" as an attachment. The PPTX is an export for someone else to open, not a live-editable master — web-only effects do not survive the conversion.
Is this official Reveal.js? Did you build it?
No. Reveal.js is an independent open-source project and we did not write it. We are a commercial editor and exporter on top of it: our product is the authoring and export experience, and the output is a Reveal.js deck. A vendor implying it invented the open-source framework it wraps is a small dishonesty that tends to come with larger ones.
Do you sell a Team plan, SSO, or a founder or education discount?
No to all three. We do not sell Team seats, Enterprise, or SSO, and there is no shared workspace, live co-editing, or admin console — Free and the two paid plans are individual. We also do not publish a startup, accelerator, or education discount, and we are not going to invent one here to make this page convert.
